Public means reachable without an account
Facebook shows a great deal to signed-in browsers that a server cannot reach. If a video only plays while you are logged in, it cannot be retrieved here. Group, friends-only and private videos are outside this workflow.
Which link forms work
A watch link, a permalink from a page post, or a share URL copied from the post menu all identify a single video. A profile or group address does not. Remove any surrounding text before pasting.
Formats depend on the post
Facebook does not publish a consistent ladder of resolutions. Many posts expose one combined file, so Best available may be the only choice offered. That is the source speaking, not a limitation added here.
Know the limits
Downloads are limited to 1 GB, videos to one hour, and galleries to 50 items. Files are available for one hour after completion. Availability is checked for each link; private, login-restricted and DRM-protected media are not supported.
Questions before you download
Can I download Facebook Reels?
A public Reel link is inspected like any other video post. Availability is checked per link.
Can I download a private or group video?
No. Content that needs your account cannot be retrieved without it.
Why does a video play for me but fail here?
Your browser is signed in and the downloader is not. That difference alone explains most failures.
Can I download Facebook videos in HD?
Quality follows the post. Many Facebook videos expose a single combined file, so Best available is often the only option offered.
Can I download a Facebook video to MP3?
An Audio only · MP3 option appears when the inspected post exposes a supported audio stream.
Do I need to log in to Facebook?
No, and no Facebook password or cookie is ever requested. The trade-off is that only publicly reachable videos work.
Can I download Facebook stories?
No. Stories are outside this public-post workflow.
