One link, five framings

Instagram puts videos, single photos and multi-item albums behind the same URL shape, so a post link does not tell you in advance what it contains. The general post downloader is the safe default: it inspects the link and offers whatever the post actually holds. The Reels, photo, carousel and video pages describe the same pipeline for people who already know what they are saving, and they set expectations for that specific media type.

Albums come back as an archive

When a post holds more than one item, the gallery adapter collects them and packages the result as a ZIP, including the case of a single-photo post. Extract it to reach the individual files. A mixed carousel can contain both images and videos, and their extensions reflect what the platform returned, so do not rename a WebP to JPEG expecting a conversion. This release handles up to 50 items in one job.

Use the post link, not a profile or audio page

A profile address identifies an account rather than a piece of media, and an audio page identifies a track used across many Reels. Open the specific post, copy its share link, and paste that. Strip any surrounding text from a chat message first, since a URL with trailing punctuation will not resolve.

Public is not the same as reachable

Instagram may require a session or refuse an automated request even for a post that opens normally in your signed-in browser. We never ask for your Instagram password and do not accept cookie uploads, so a restricted post stays restricted here. If a post is yours, the platform account tools give you the original files at better quality than any downloader can.

Questions before you download

Which page should I use for a Reel?

Either the Reels page or the general post downloader. Both inspect the link and offer the formats the post exposes.

Why is my single photo a ZIP?

Photo posts are handled by the gallery adapter, which packages its output as an archive even when it finds one item.

Can I download private posts?

No. Private and session-restricted content is not supported, and we do not accept account credentials.

Will the photo be the original upload?

It is the file the platform exposes, which Instagram has usually already compressed. Nothing here restores detail lost before upload.
