Threads posts carry Instagram media
Threads is built on the same media platform as Instagram, and a post page publishes the same image and video records. That is why a Threads post returns the full-size file rather than a screen-sized copy, and why a post holding several items comes back as an archive with its order preserved.
Both domains and both link shapes
Addresses on threads.com and threads.net are accepted, as are the /@user/post/ form and the shorter /t/ share form. A profile address is not a post and does not identify anything to download.
What is not covered
A post that needs a logged-in session cannot be read, and neither can replies gated behind one. Nothing is upscaled and no watermark is added or removed. The 50-item and 1 GB limits apply as they do elsewhere.
Know the limits
Downloads are limited to 1 GB, videos to one hour, and galleries to 50 items. Files are available for one hour after completion. Availability is checked for each link; private, login-restricted and DRM-protected media are not supported.
Questions before you download
Can I download a Threads post with several photos?
Yes. Multi-item posts return an archive, and you can tick individual items before downloading rather than taking all of them.
Does it work with threads.net links?
Yes. Both threads.com and threads.net addresses resolve to the same post.
Can I download Threads videos?
Video posts are collected the same way as photos when the post exposes them publicly.
How do I save a photo from Threads?
Paste the post link and download the result. You get the full-size file the platform publishes, not a screenshot.
Can I download someone else’s Threads post?
Only download media you own or have permission to save. A post being public is not permission to republish it.
Why does my Threads link return a ZIP?
Threads posts run through the gallery workflow, so results arrive as an archive even when a single item is returned.
Does it work on mobile?
